A BRASS-MOUNTED BRITISH POLICE HANGER, serial no. 694,
circa 1840, with unsigned curved 24in. blade double edged for the last 7 1/4in., broad fuller, brass 'D' shaped knuckle-bow with single turned down quillion to the reverse of guard, spirally bound sharkskin hilt (wire binding missing) and stepped pommel, the side of cross-guard with push button release, complete with its original brass mounted leather scabbard
